Job Summary

Position Information: This is a Department PromotionalExaminationand is open only to eligible employees of the Kern County District Attorneys Office who have permanent status in the classified service and received an overall standard or better on their last employee performance report.

Examination:
Appraisal (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of evaluating the applicants training education experience interest and personal fitness for the position. Appraisal can be based on any combination of the following: Investigation oral exam and rating of the application.

Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.

Should an oral exam be necessary the oral exam will be weighted 100%.

Examination components for promotional testing will be administered during scheduled date(s)/time(s)/location without exception.

Minimum Qualifications / Employment Standards:
Eight (8) years experience as a peace officer in the State of CaliforniaINCLUDING EITHER three (3) years experience as an Investigator in the Kern County District Attorneys Office ORtwo (2) years of experience as a Sergeant or equivalent in another law enforcement agency one year of which has been completed within the past five years.

Possession of an Advanced Certificate awarded by the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST). Applicants must meet all requirements for peace officer status that are mandated by the California Government Code and Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Regulations for the class of Investigator.

Possession of a valid California Drivers License.
