Job Summary
Summary of Duties
RPNs are responsible for the total care of within their scope of practice including socialization of behaviourally challenged dementia residents in a highly specialized cognitive support unit. The RPN supports the philosophy of Patient-Focused Care concept and principles and the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The RPN works closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications/Skills
Current Ontario College of Nurses Registration
Current B.C.L.S
Experience in Long Term Care required
Patient and Family focused care philosophy required
Cognitive support experience required
Non-violent Crisis Intervention course preferred
Ability to work effectively and therapeutically in a setting with residents with senile Dementia Alzheimers Type
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with primary nursing an asset
Strong assessment skills
Ability to work effectively as a team player
Computer and keyboarding skills
