About the Role

Analog Devices is seeking a Staff Field Applications Engineer with deep expertise in power architectures for optical systems to drive technical engagement and secure design wins with our most strategic customers.

In this senior role you will be the primary technical authority on power solutions for optical transceivers optical circuit switches and high-speed interconnect systemscovering board- and system-level power design point-of-load regulation and integration with optical moduleswhile leveraging ADIs complementary Signal Conditioning and Data Conversion technologies. You will collaborate closely with Sales Business Units and Technology Groups to influence product roadmaps define innovative solutions and ensure customer success in high-growth markets such as data centers and communications infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead for power solutions supporting optical transceivers optical circuit switches and related high-speed systems.
  • Architect complete power systems for optical modules including DC/DC conversion point-of-load regulation and integration with ADC/DAC and analog front ends.
  • Provide expertise in optical module requirements including power sequencing thermal management and signal integrity considerations for high-speed interconnects.
  • Identify and drive new product opportunities in collaboration with Power and Optical Product Line teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Product Line Management BU Marketing and Applications Engineering to ensure alignment with customer needs.
  • Deliver technical seminars workshops and hands-on demos showcasing ADIs power solutions for optical systems.
  • Mentor junior FAEs and elevate the technical capabilities of the regional applications team.

Emerging Optical Trends

As data center and cloud architectures evolve this role will engage with cutting-edge technologies such as:

  • 800G and 1.6T optical transceivers for next-generation high-speed connectivity.
  • Co-packaged optics (CPO) and integrated photonics for reducing power and latency in hyperscale environments.
  • Optical Circuit Switch (OCS) architectures enabling dynamic high-bandwidth interconnects.
  • Advanced thermal and power management strategies for dense optical systems.

Your expertise will help customers navigate these transitions and position ADI as a leader in enabling next-generation optical infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • BSEE required; MSEE preferred.
  • 12 years of experience in power circuit design at board and system level with strong understanding of power conversion topologies and sequencing for optical systems.
  • Familiarity with optical technologies including transceiver architectures optical circuit switches photonics and high-speed SerDes.
  • Knowledge of complementary technologies such as Signal Conditioning and Data Converters.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with both technical and executive audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead technical discussions influence product strategy and mentor team members.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent hands-on lab skills for troubleshooting and design validation.
