Job Description:
This position is directly responsible for providing husbandry care for the animals in compliance with regulations and accrediting bodies . This includes observations of animals handling and restraint feeding and watering changing cages/racks and sanitizing animal areas and equipment. Functions as an operational lead and assists with more advanced husbandry duties under minimal supervision. Maintains the facility in compliance with regulations and accrediting bodies. Provides direct oversight of research activities to ensure compliance with approved protocols and regulations with minimal supervision. Weekend and holiday shifts are required on a rotational basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school or equivalent certification required
LAT certification required. If not LAT certified must obtain certification within specified timeframe.
Knowledge of laboratory animal care safety and sanitation practices required
No health or physical conditions that would prevent working with animals in a research setting
Preferred Qualifications:
Veterinary Technology/Science degree preferred
3 years of relevant work experience preferred
