• Primary reporting location: North Bergen NJ

• Must be able to float to a secondary office location (Hackensack NJ) to cover planned/unplanned PTO or assist during high-volume days

Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist I performs diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. This role is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety comfort and compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients selecting appropriate technical factors and operating imaging equipment for required procedures.

• Utilize immobilization devices as needed and adjust techniques based on individual patient needs.

• Restrict radiation exposure using proper collimation and cone techniques to protect unaffected body areas.

• Perform portable radiographic examinations in patient rooms operating rooms and emergency settings.

• Accurately identify and label images with patient information exam details and anatomical markers.

• Process exposed x-ray films using available processing methods.

• Complete patient requisitions with required documentation including initials date film size and exam details.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the x-ray room per departmental standards.

• Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist physicians with administration as needed.

• Perform administrative duties including scheduling patient instruction record maintenance film filing and reception tasks.

• Assist patients with mobility needs including positioning transfers and table access.

• Meet physical requirements including standing for extended periods and lifting pushing or pulling equipment as required.

• Adapt care delivery to meet the diverse needs of the patient population including age culture language and physical or sensory limitations.

• Communicate effectively with patients caregivers and staff at an appropriate developmental and educational level.

• Adhere to organizational competencies departmental policies and safety standards.

Education & Training

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Completion of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program

• Completion of required clinical and ARRT educational requirements

Licensure & Certifications

• Active New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist License (required)

• Eligible for and able to pass the ARRT National Registry Examination

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in an orthopedic office setting

• Bilingual in Spanish (preferred not required)
