DescriptionClean Harbors in Deer Park TX is looking for an Incineration Blends Chemist. This team member will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the scheduling review and processing of bulk and direct burn waste streams into the incineration unit. This role serves as a key liaison between Sales Operations Burn Planners Receiving Transportation and Customers to ensure waste profiles are compliant scheduled appropriately and received efficiently. The Blends Chemist supports production planning waste blending strategy and operational throughput while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and facility requirements.

ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Sales Waste Pickup Clean Harbors Support Branches Transportation Operations and Customers via phone and email regarding bulk scheduling requests incineration requirements and follow-ups through completion.
Review bulk and direct burn waste profiles to ensure all required documentation is in place including approved profiles treatment notes and direct burn data sheets.
Evaluate direct burn profiles to determine appropriate burn routes (e.g. acid line heated line) and provide slot availability based on unit capabilities.
Coordinate closely with Burn Planners and Operations teams for direct burns bulk solids tank farm activities and overall scheduling alignment.
Maintain and update the master DE scheduling spreadsheet capturing profile details gallons special instructions and load information.
Add load numbers to the scheduling spreadsheet to support Receiving and tracking of inbound waste.
Create receiving folders containing waste profiles treatment notes direct burn data sheets and special instructions; deliver to Fishbowl for Receiving operations.
Monitor Gate Log and WIN Web systems and update scheduling spreadsheets with tanker and box numbers as loads arrive.
Partner with Receiving (Fishbowl) to troubleshoot and resolve receiving issues such as missing manifest information unavailable disposal lines or documentation discrepancies.
Follow up with internal and external stakeholders to resolve missed loads rescheduling needs and receiving delays.
Manifest railcars back to origin following unloading or to designated cleaning locations when required.
Adapt to evolving operational needs and learn additional roles within the incineration and lines of business as assigned.
Distribute weekly DE bulk scheduling and cancellation communications.
Provide scheduling and operational updates during the weekly Incineration Operations & Sales Friday call.
Support development of waste blends and production plans in alignment with incineration unit parameters.
Ensure compliance with QA/QC standards regulatory requirements and facility operating guidelines.
Assist with monthly bulk scheduling reports and revenue forecasting updates.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency throughput and communication across departments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsWhat does it take to work at Clean Harbors
Minimum of two (2) years of college or specialized training in Chemistry Environmental Engineering or a related field preferred
13 years of relevant experience in waste management chemical processing laboratory or industrial operations
Strong understanding of chemical waste profiles incineration theory burn parameters and waste compatibility
Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Proficiency in Windows-based applications and scheduling tools (Excel internal systems)
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced compliance-driven environment
Team-oriented mindset with a strong focus on safety and accuracy
