Role overview
This permanent full-time night-shift role provides diagnostic imaging services in CT and X-ray (and potentially other modalities) to support accurate diagnosis and safe patient care. The position is based within a Diagnostic Imaging department in Craig Colorado and requires competence in at least two imaging modalities plus strong night-shift autonomy.
Key responsibilities

Perform high-quality diagnostic exams in at least two imaging modalities (e.g. CT and X-ray) following established protocols and optimizing image quality while minimizing radiation dose.

Apply radiation safety principles and ALARA standards for patients staff and self including appropriate shielding and exposure settings.

Verify physician orders confirm patient identity obtain informed consent where required and thoroughly explain procedures to patients to promote understanding and comfort.

Document procedures accurately in the medical record and imaging systems ensuring complete and timely exam data charges and reports.

Identify and troubleshoot basic equipment issues escalate or coordinate with service engineers when needed and remove faulty equipment from service per policy.

Assist with patient transport room turnover and general clerical or departmental support tasks to maintain an efficient workflow.

Provide cross-coverage and support during emergencies high-volume periods holidays and vacations including working independently on night shifts.

Participate in performance improvement regulatory readiness and staff meetings contributing ideas to improve quality safety and efficiency.

Follow infection control safety and risk management policies at all times including appropriate PPE cleaning and disinfection of equipment and rooms.
Required qualifications and skills
-
Registered Radiologic Technologist with ARRT (R) and at least one additional modality credential (e.g. CT MRI Mammography Nuclear Medicine Sonography) or equivalent registration such as NMTCB RDMS RVT RDCS or RMSKS.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and demonstrated ability to respond appropriately to patient changes and emergencies.

Proven ability to work independently on night shifts prioritize tasks and maintain productivity while managing multiple patients and modalities.

Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with physicians nurses and other team members.

Familiarity and proficiency with PACS RIS/HIS electronic medical records and common Microsoft Office applications for scheduling documentation and communication.

2 years of recent experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist in CT X-ray or another advanced imaging modality is strongly preferred.

Prior experience in a hospital or acute-care diagnostic imaging department with multi-modality responsibilities.

Willingness to cross-train and maintain competencies in additional modalities such as DEXA MRI or Mammography according to departmental needs.
