Job Summary

SQL Developer w/ P&C Insurance experience

Required skills :

MUST HAVE P&C INSURANCE EXPERIENCE

This role focuses on developing and ensuring the accuracy performance and reliability of keyword search functionality utilizing SQL queries and within the Gridspace (GS) platform.
The candidate will possess a strong understanding of logic as it pertains to query building and relational database principles.
The candidate will also have some previous experience working in the property and casualty insurance space.
The ideal candidate will also have previous experience applying key-word searches to large volumes of text to extract insights

Responsibilities

SQL Query Testing:
- Develop optimize and execute SQL queries based on predetermined criteria.
- Test the handling of various keyword combinations including synonyms stemming and misspellings.
- Craft test cases to verify the correctness of SQL queries used for data retrieval transformation and reporting.
- Analyze testing data to identify areas for refinement.
- Document results consistently and maintain a working history of previously obtained data.
- Ensure SQL queries adhere to coding standards and best practices.
Keyword Query Testing (Gridspace):
- Develop Gridspace queries and create test cases to assess the accuracy and relevance
- Evaluate the performance of keyword searches utilizing various parameters.
- Document test results and report platform defects in a clear and concise manner.
- Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve search-related issues.

Key Skills

Proactive Critical Thinker and Problem Solver
Experience / familiarity with P&C / insurance terms processes regs etc.
Strong SQL and logic skills as much of their development will be creating queries in Sift language specific to our quality platform. These will be advanced keyword queries and someone with SQL experience will be able to easily pick-up.

Knowledge and Abilities:

Ability to work closely with developers data scientists and quality management advisors to understand requirements and provide feedback.
In-depth understanding of quality standards and their application in a data-driven environment.
Ability to interpret and apply Knowledge Central (KC) error criteria to real-world scenarios.
Knowledge of key-word search strategies and their application.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
