Job Summary:
The X-Ray Technician will operate X-ray equipment to produce radiographic images for medical diagnostic purposes. This role involves performing imaging procedures ensuring patient safety and maintaining equipment. The technician will work as part of a healthcare team to provide quality patient care.
Location:Rochester New York United States
Responsibilities:
- Perform X-ray imaging procedures according to established protocols.
- Ensure patient safety during imaging procedures.
- Maintain and troubleshoot X-ray equipment.
- Prepare patients for procedures explaining the process and answering questions.
- Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality images.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and completeness.
- Document patient information and imaging procedures accurately.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and protocols.
- Assist radiologists and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- ARRT certification
- BLS certification
- Active state license (if required)
- Experience in performing a variety of X-ray procedures
- Knowledge of radiation safety principles and practices
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with digital radiography systems
- Experience in a tertiary care hospital setting
Special Considerations:
- Weekend coverage as needed
- On-call requirements: 3 week night calls per month (average 3 times a month)
- Must be more than 75 mile radius.
- First time travelers accepted
Scheduling:
- 5x8 Monday - Friday
- Variable start time between 0600a-0800a
