Job Summary

Internships are designed to introduce and build essential hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad well-rounded learning experience within their field of study. 

AECOM is seeking an Electrical Intern to be based in the Denver CO office.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Performs specific portions of a broader assignment under the mentoring of an experienced engineer.
  • Prepares designs calculations sketches diagrams schematic drawings and working drawings.
  •  Evaluate select and apply standard engineering techniques procedures and judgment based on experience to design electrical systems in buildings using building information modeling.
  • Collect and analyze data including field surveys under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Coordinate with other discipline Engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design process.
  • Participate in design progress and coordination meetings.
  • Assist with the design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure high-quality outputs under project timelines.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or a relevant field and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have graduated with a bachelors degree and plan to continue with a masters degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelors degree in the most recent school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Due to the nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to manage time and deadlines keep track of steps in progress and prioritize tasks.
  • Experience utilizing industry standard software packages such as AutoCAD Revit Bluebeam (PDF editor) or similar.
  • Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD electrical simulation software (SKM ETAP etc.) or lighting calculation programs (AGi32).
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Comfortable working in a high-energy environment with frequent deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal organizational verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information :

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Denver CO. The selected candidate must be available to work in Denver CO on a scheduled basis.
