JOB PURPOSE: The Wellness Program Coordinator offers essential administrative support to the Office of the Dean of Students/Vice President for Student Affairs. Key responsibilities include assisting with the Wellness Task Force co-chaired by the Vice President for Student Affairs and the Director of Athletics and executing programs aimed at improving the wellness of students faculty and staff at Pomona College. This role involves various tasks such as identifying and inviting speakers to campus developing a comprehensive wellness communication plan and organizing campus events to educate the community on diverse wellness topics. Additionally the Coordinator provides general administrative and clerical support within the Office collects data related to wellness programming efforts procures necessary equipment for activities and reconciles financial reports. By effectively managing these duties the Wellness Program Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering a healthier campus environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The part-time Wellness Program Coordinator reporting directly to the Vice President of Student Affairs is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
Organize Wellness Task Force meetings coordinate with members prepare agendas and record minutes for bi-weekly meetings.
Invite and coordinate with wellness presenters and vendors.
Organize and manage events catering and facility requests using EMS TMA and Catertrax. Design and distribute flyers invitations and newsletters to share wellness information and activities.
Monitor participation in all events and develop a comprehensive record of these events.
Track and reconcile spending on wellness activities.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:. Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Experience: Experience with office tasks budgeting websites and electronic publications at an academic institution with a liberal arts mission and philosophy is preferred. Experience with working with students and faculty desirable.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND CRITICAL SKILLS: The Wellness Program Coordinator must possess the knowledge skills and abilities to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the position or be able to demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed with or without reasonable accommodation using other skills and abilities not listed below.
Deploy professional skills in administrative support and customer service in collaboration with colleagues to best promote the Colleges strategic interests.

Excellent customer service skills including a courteous and professional demeanor on the phone and at the reception desk.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly concisely and accurately when giving information to both external and internal inquires.
Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to interact effectively and sensitively with diverse groups of individuals and to resolve issues with tact and sensitivity.
Ability to make sound judgments and decisions independently and accept direction from multiple sources.
Excellent organizational skills sufficient to establish priorities and complete assignments within a timely manner while performing detailed work with accuracy.
Proven capability to collaborate efficiently within a team environment.
Proven experience in customer service within high-volume fast-paced environments.
Exhibit proficient computer skills with fundamental Microsoft Office applications (such as Word Excel Visio Outlook) relevant professional software (including Engage Workday and menu-driven databases) and social media networking. Demonstrate an understanding of leveraging technology to achieve annual objectives and uphold confidentiality.
Ensure the prioritization and execution of multiple tasks adherence to deadlines prompt responses to others and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Uphold the Colleges strategic vision and the divisions annual goals with the highest standard of integrity and ethics.
Enforce FERPA regulations and maintain confidentiality as required; advise constituencies on FERPA and college privacy restrictions.
Manage all tasks and sensitive information with patience discretion sound judgment courtesy and tact while collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Utilize effective organizational and time management skills to ensure work is completed accurately and with meticulous attention to detail.
REQUIRED HOURS: This is a temporary part-time benefits-eligible position (20 hours/week) with hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday to be arranged in consultation with the candidate. There is some flexibility. Weekend and evening work hours may be required periodically. Regular hours may vary based on the needs of the College or division.
HOURLY RATE: The hourly rate for this role is between $21.19 and $25.75 per hour with a competitive benefits package. The specific factors that the College will consider when offering a salary to an individual will include but not be limited to: education training relevant prior experience and performance in prior roles. All staff positions are ineligible for visa or permanent resident card sponsorship. As a California employer Pomona College requires all employees to be residents of California.
