Working Hours
The Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse will provide services when requested 5 days per week excluding Federal Holidays. 160 estimated sessions per week normally consisting of eight (8) hour days and an optional 120 workdays not to exceed 240 workdays in a 24-month period. Any time worked in day constitutes one (1) workday. Work hours will normally be between 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The contractor employee(s) shall not exceed 40 hours per week.
Qualifications
- Must be certified to practice medicine in the state of California.
- 1 years of experience
- CPR certification in accordance with the American Heart Association Basic Life Support.

Summary of Duties: Provides direct patient care within the scope of licensure by administering medications assisting with clinical procedures monitoring patient conditions and responding to medical emergencies under appropriate supervision. Maintains accurate documentation adheres to infection control and safety protocols and collaborates with physicians nurses and healthcare staff to support effective patient care.
Attire
The contractor employee is required to dress appropriately for the work environment. This includes business attire or scrubs. No khaki or green scrubs. The attire worn shall also be appropriate for the correctional environment in which the contract employee will be performing services. FCC Victorville will not be responsible for providing a uniform allowance. Jeans (of any color) T-shirts sandals (of any type) tank tops and sweatpants/shirts are not considered appropriate professional attire.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care services in accordance with legal ethical and institutional
- standards through the evaluation of patients and therapeutic treatment as ordered by Health Services clinical staff
- Perform Licensed Practical Vocational Nurse duties within the scope of the current licensure
- Administer medications as prescribed i.e. by mouth intradermal subcutaneously or
- intramuscularly
- Assist with distribution of medications at pill line
- Monitor and evaluate the response to therapy
- Perform skin testing
- Assist with telehealth
- Take medical histories examine patients and order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays
- Perform venipuncture for the purpose of obtaining laboratory specimens
- Maintain accurate logs of all reports in accordance with Bureau of Prisons and AAAHC
- policy Screen laboratory tests/results for normal/abnormal lad values and notify the physician

- Ensure all sharps are secured accounted for stored and disposed of according to institutional
- and national policy
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures
- Ability and skill to operate EKG
- Clinically manage injuries by bleeding control bandaging splinting and immobilizing
- Attend to medical emergencies
- Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) consulting physician(s) and Nurses in
- planning instituting evaluating and revising program plans
- Assist in determining conditions resources and policies essential to delivery of the healthcare services
