Job Title: Chief Operations Officer (COO)
Location: Caribbean / Remote (with regional travel)

Role Overview
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) will be the operational backbone of The Hive Careers responsible for scaling execution across talent acquisition workforce deployment training partnerships and enterprise delivery across Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.
This role is ideal for a hands-on operator with experience scaling services platforms or workforce-driven businesses (HRTech Staffing BPO Consulting SaaS or Talent-as-a-Service models). The COO will translate strategy into execution build repeatable operating systems and ensure delivery excellence for enterprise and institutional clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership & Execution
- Own day-to-day operations across Staffing Training Freelancing Project Outsourcing and Job Board services
- Convert CEO vision into clear operating plans KPIs SOPs and execution rhythms
- Ensure service quality delivery timelines and margin control across all offerings
2. Scaling & Process Optimization
- Design and implement scalable operating models for:
- Client acquisition & onboarding
- Talent sourcing vetting and deployment
- Training delivery & certification programs
- Enterprise staffing engagements (PO / Work Order models)
- Drive automation and systemization using ATS CRM HRIS finance and reporting tools
3. Talent & Workforce Operations
- Oversee recruitment onboarding performance management and contractor/vendor management
- Build and manage a regional talent pool across multiple disciplines (IT Finance Operations Engineering etc.)
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and contractor frameworks across Caribbean markets
4. Client Delivery & Account Management
- Ensure flawless delivery for key enterprise and institutional clients (banks telcos governments NGOs)
- Own service-level agreements (SLAs) escalation management and renewal readiness
- Partner with Sales and Delivery teams to support enterprise proposals and pricing models
5. Financial & Performance Management
- Manage operating budgets cost controls utilization rates and contribution margins
- Work closely with Finance on forecasting revenue realization and unit economics
- Establish dashboards and weekly/monthly reporting for leadership and investors
6. Partnerships & Expansion Support
- Support strategic partnerships (training institutions certifying bodies enterprises governments)
- Operationalize regional expansion into new Caribbean markets
- Assist with due diligence compliance and operational readiness for new offerings
Key Deliverables
- Scalable operating framework across all Hive products
- SOPs and playbooks for recruitment delivery and client management
- Weekly and monthly operational performance dashboards
- Optimized cost structure and improved gross margins
- High client satisfaction and retention metrics
- A high-performing operations and delivery team
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 1015 years in operations leadership preferably in:
- Staffing / Recruitment / HRTech - Ideal
- BPO / Professional Services
- Consulting or SaaS-enabled services - Ideal
- Proven experience scaling operations across multiple teams or geographies
- Strong understanding of:
- Talent acquisition & workforce management
- Service delivery models
- Process design & automation
- Experience working with enterprise or institutional clients
- Strong financial acumen (budgets margins forecasting)
- Exceptional leadership execution and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
- Caribbean or emerging-market operating experience
- Experience working with governments banks or regulated industries
- Exposure to ATS CRM ERP or workforce platforms (Manatal Workable Salesforce etc.)
- Startup or scale-up leadership experience
