For more than 120 years Hope Community Services has walked alongside West Australians providing compassionate practical support for people experiencing family and domestic violence mental health challenges substance use social disadvantage and other complex needs.

Our Mens Service delivers culturally grounded trauma-informed support to Aboriginal men across the Goldfields region. We work in partnership with communities Elders and local agencies to strengthen cultural identity promote healing and support positive behaviour change.

About the Role

We are seeking a Mens Bush Trip Support Worker to join our Goldfields Mens Service team in Kalgoorlie.

In this role you will support men through culturally informed outreach mentoring and bush-based healing programs. You will help men develop safety strategies strengthen connections to culture and engage with supports that encourage accountability and wellbeing.

You will also assist with program planning delivery and evaluation building trusted relationships with participants facilitating group activities and linking men to community legal and health services. Working within a trauma-informed and culturally safe framework you will contribute to positive change for men families and communities.

Youll Need

Essential

  • Experience working with Aboriginal people communities and organisations
  • High-level interpersonal skills and ability to engage men with respect accountability and cultural safety
  • Ability to facilitate groups workshops or outreach activities
  • Knowledge and experience in family and domestic violence and working with men who use violence
  • Strong administrative project coordination and reporting skills
  • Creative thinking problem-solving and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Cultural knowledge skills and networks
  • Current C or A-class drivers licence National Police Certificate (within 3 months) and First Aid Certificate

Desirable

  • Qualifications in Social Work Counselling Community Services Health or related field
  • Experience working in regional or remote Aboriginal communities
  • Experience in family violence mental health alcohol and other drug support or justice systems
  • Competence in program evaluation data collection and reporting
