On July 1 2025 IPL Plastics merged with Schoeller Allibert to form IPL Schoeller (the company). The Companys operations are split across North America (11 manufacturing plants) and Europe (16 manufacturing plants). The company is headquartered in Dublin Ireland.
IPL Schoeller is a leading manufacturer of sustainable rigid packaging solutions across a range of end market segments including returnable transit packaging consumer and industrial packaging environmental containers and agricultural packaging. The company employs c.4100 employees across North America (1600 employees) and Europe (2500 employees).

Job Overview and key duties (agile)
Role purpose
The Financial Controller owns the financial accounting and reporting process for the site providing strategic information and insights to the management team to support effective decision making & overseeing and monitoring an effective compliance and control environment.
Key accountabilities
Site Finance Leadership
Be a visible leader across the site & the business who promotes and lives the Groups values and culture.
Partner with the Plant Director providing good information insights and challenge enabling better decision making & the ability to run the site in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
Strategic projects play a leading role in the transformation of the site including potential for new business wins & new operational setup.
Financial Control
Ensure the integrity of financial reporting by demonstrating diligence & independence & maintaining a strong control environment.
Management of product costings on site in conjunction with the commercial team investigating any deviations from standard and promoting corrective action.
Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure accurate valuation and reporting. Implement controls to reduce excess and obsolete stock improving turnover. Collaborate with operations to align inventory with business needs and drive working capital efficiency.
Take ownership of site overheads with spend category owners managing to budget and adjusting expectations in line with volumes investigating any deviations from target and promoting corrective action.
Manage the timely and high-quality delivery of the period-end financial close process.
Be able to effectively communicate actual financial results with management and variations to same (budget forecast and prior year) based clear analytical analysis.
Drive the implementation of global accounting policies and procedures leveraging enabling technologies.
Drive compliant and effective operation of taxation activities.
Oversee treasury activities for the site notably cash management in conjunction with Working Capital team.
Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions ensuring appropriate and efficient processes and procedures and positively impacting working capital balances.
Periodic forecasting and planning activities including leading the annual budget process.
Manage relationship with the auditors and ensure GAAP/ IFRS compliance.
Coordinate internal and external financial reporting requirements to the Group statutory authorities and other key stakeholders.
Finance Function
Implement consistent standards and efficient ways of working across the Finance team.
Motivate coach and develop the team; build capability and succession plans.
Support the Groups ambition to deliver a best-in-class Finance function globally.
Work with the IPL Schoeller Continental Europe Finance team across all sites to deliver a high performing consistent & insightful finance solution for the total European business which demonstrates the right behaviours.
Play a leading role in the maximising the use & effectiveness of the current ERP system and implementing new systems into the future.
Work with Central teams to streamline reporting solutions using ERP Power BI & Excel solutions.
Ability to work with and build a constructive relationship with the IPL Schoeller Shared Service Centre
Qualifications & Experience
A Qualified Accountant with an excellent record of financial and operational achievement in driving accuracy efficiency and controls
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Change management experience with ability to lead key projects. System implementations and integration experience advantageous
Excellent leadership interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to quickly command the confidence and respect of the management team
Passion and commitment with high personal integrity and a practical pragmatic and hardworking ethic
Highly analytical with the ability to delve into the detail to drive improvements in the business while at the same time being able to present clear and concise summaries which lead to action orientated results.
Practical with a positive can do self starter attitude
