Job Summary

Nurse America is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-volume maternal care team in Houston TX. The RN will collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe high-quality patient-centered care using the nursing process. This role offers professional growth within a supportive environment while managing diverse and rewarding clinical responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications & Certifications (Required)

Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Active Texas RN license or active multi-state compact RN license (no stipulations)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Minimum 3 5 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
Additional certifications may be required based on unit and clinical standards

Key Responsibilities

Provide safe evidence-based nursing care aligned with patient needs and professional standards
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and assist with examinations and treatments
Educate patients and families throughout the continuum of care
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans
Implement and evaluate treatment discharge and transfer plans
Delegate and coordinate care activities to support positive patient outcomes
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Texas Board of Nursing standards
Promote a safe environment for patients staff and visitors
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities
Serve as a mentor or resource to less experienced staff as needed
Perform additional duties within scope of practice
