Job Summary:

Center of Expertise (COE) team is seeking a lead to shape the direction and strategy development within the Caterpillar enterprise. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter capable of thinking with an enterprise perspective while still being flexible enough to keep the business running. Tasks range from providing assistance coaching and developers with development and architectural issues to evaluating and implementing new technologies .

What You Will Do:

  • Leading the team that will define strategy

  • Partnering with other COE teams (Java Container Python etc)

  • Coaching and communicating information to development community

  • Performing code reviews of applications to help ensure code quality before deployment

  • Assisting developers in integrating applications with Caterpillar systems

  • Supporting projects to migrate from legacy components to technology

  • Creating and refining policies to ensure effective and development within Caterpillar

  • Participating on special projects as a .NET Subject Matter Expert

  • Researching related products/versions

What You Have:

  • Strong experience managing a complex process as a process owner

  • Experience working with India based resources

  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply them with an enterprise perspective

  • Ability to act in a self-directed manner independently researching tools/libraries/technologies or solving a problem with minimal oversight and instructions

  • Excellent communication skills (in English) to persuade others to use recommended practices and technologies

  • A strength in source code management strategies using Git and other popular tools.

  • A clear understanding the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Strong technical problem-solving skills

  • Experience with GitLab Azure DevOps GitHub Enterprise Cloud

  • Experience with SonarQube and JFrog Artifactory

  • Experience with SQL Server and Snowflake

  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.

  • A familiarity with administering Linux or Windows Server

  • Experience with Windows PowerShell Python or other popular scripting languages.

  • A familiarity with web development in either Java

  • An understanding of modern web development security threats and security best practices

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services

  • Experience with ITSM

  • Experience with SonarQube

  • Experience with Artifactory

  • Experience with npm

  • Experience with performing code reviews

  • Experience with troubleshooting and debugging tools such as Fiddler DebugDiag WinDbg Intellitrace Application Insights or Wireshark

  • Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes

Additional Info:

  • The ideal location for this role is East Peoria-IL Nashville-TN or Irving-TX

  • This position may require 10% travel.

Summary Pay Range:

$126000.00 - $204720.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
