Child SAFEGUARDING: Level 3: The post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process for staff. | |
PROJECT SCOPE: This project is funded by multiple donors seeking to assist vulnerable unaccompanied and separated children (UASC) and youth among the migrant community in Greater Cairo to receive better protection services aiming to empower them for successful transition to self-reliance access income generation activities and integrate within the local communities. | |
ROLE PURPOSE: This position will be primarily responsible for supervision of the case management component under the supervision of the Senior Operations Officer. This includes building the capacity of case workers and community mentors according to the Save the Children case management common approach. | |

Accountability:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Educational Background: Social studies Political Science Psychology Sociology or other related studies. Essential: 2-3 years of previous relevant experience in the development/humanitarian field with a focus on child protection Solid experience in working with refugee children Case management experience is a must Excellent communication and coordination skills. Proficiency in Arabic and English written and spoken is a must. Demonstrated ability to supervise and monitor the teams progress. Awareness about the security context and political situation in Egypt for refugees. Able to work effectively within a team and/or individually. Well organized with strong time-management skills Experience in working and pulling out database reports Strong communication skills solid experience in communication with difficult and challenging cases and at the same time experience in communication with management levels. Experience in working and coordinating with other sister NGOs. Experience in drafting Standards of Procedures (or similar documents) with strong and clear Language is an asset Shares Save the Childrens vision and values. Ability to apply Self-care techniques. Desirable: Previous working experience with NGOs and in refugee-related contexts. |
