Job Summary
Were on the hunt for a Transport Dispatcher to lead the efficient planning scheduling and coordination of transport activities for both full and empty containers across New Zealand. The role ensures optimal fleet utilisation safe operations and timely service delivery while maintaining strong customer communication and compliance with all legislative and company requirements.
Here is some of what you will be doing:
- Planning and coordinating transport activities for both full and empty containers.
- Optimising fleet utilisation to achieve efficiency service and cost targets.
- Scheduling and allocating work with the flexibility to adapt plans as situations change.
- Working closely with drivers customers depots shipping lines and ports to keep things moving smoothly.
- Supporting yard and transport operations including safe loading/unloading when needed.
- Monitoring container hire periods detention and demurrage to reduce unnecessary costs.
- Maintaining accurate dispatch records and proactive communication with all stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with all health safety and environmental requirements.
Qualifications :
Heres what youll bring to the table:
- A minimum of three years of experience in transport dispatch logistics or a related operational role.
- Strong planning problem-solving and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication youll be confident talking with drivers customers and internal teams.
- A focus on safety compliance and professionalism at all times.
- Flexibility to work rostered/on-call hours to support 24/7 operations.
- A positive can-do attitude with the ability to step into other operational areas when required.
This is a full-time permanent role based in Auckland. You will have the right to live and work in New Zealand at the time of applying. The successful candidate may be subject to undergo a Police Check and/or Pre-Employment Drug Test.
