Job Summary

Your mission

Assystem is growing fast and our stress and structural integrity capability is growing with it. Were looking for a Senior/Principal Stress Engineer who is ready to take the next step into a technical and capability leadership role helping to strengthen grow and develop our UK stress engineering community.

This is a hybrid role: youll deliver high-value technical work for clients while also shaping the direction tools talent and strategy of our stress capability.

What Youll Do:

Lead complex stress and structural integrity assessments using FEA and hand calculations

Review and approve technical work representing Assystem confidently with clients

Mentor and develop engineers building future stress specialists

Drive capability growth training methods best practices recruitment and retention

Support bids and business development working closely with Engineering Directors and Sales

Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams in the nuclear and defence sectors

Qualifications :

What Youll Bring:

To lead build and guide a community of highly skilled stress engineers

Strong background in stress analysis / structural integrity

Expertise in FEA (ABAQUS ANSYS etc.) and relevant assessment codes (ASME BS7910 R6 etc.)

Experience in the nuclear or similar highly regulated sector

Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working toward it

Ability to develop and implement technical strategy and capability development
