Job Summary
TITLE: SCIENCE TEACHER
Primary purpose:
To create a flexible elementary class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.
Responsibilities:
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft email and office programs
- Teaches core subjects to bilingual students in grades 1-5 using an American curriculum and standards; evaluates students and prepares reports.
- Administers and develops subject specific assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or developing individual learning plans.
- Forms lesson plans and instructional materials that provide individualized and whole group instruction for the needs of each student.
- Uses a variety of instruction strategies: adaptable for online and on-campus environments
- Communicates with parents on a regular to discuss students progress.
- Collaborates with colleagues in committees to gather ideas on the successful implementation of curriculum
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of related work experience
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Bachelors Degree
