General Description
The High School Maths teacher is responsible for fostering a passion for Mathematics and mathematical thinking among students throughout the High School. The successful candidate will have an inclusive and creative approach to teaching and will work collaboratively with the Mathematics department to develop engaging and inspirational learning experiences. Candidates should demonstrate intercultural competence and have a commitment to supporting students social and emotional wellbeing as well as their academic growth.
The successful candidate will be expected to construct learning experiences that challenge students support the diversity of learners in each classroom and demonstrate a strong commitment to inquiry. concept based teaching and learning. Please note that all high school teachers are also expected to teach IB Theory of Knowledge as needed as well as supervise the Extended Essay and Personal Project processes for students.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of courses some combination of IB MYP DP and/or AP. Prior knowledge of these is preferred but not addition all teachers participate in our student Personal Development Programme as a Homeroom PSHE or Service Project leader and are also expected to support an ethos of holistic learning through their support of an after school club activity or sport.
Teachers are expected to meet (or commit to a growth plan to fulfil) the community expectations of both our Professional and Teaching Standards.
