Registered Nurse (RN) ICU Step Down
Location: Elmhurst NY
Contract Duration: 19 Weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM (3x 11.5-hour flex shifts/week alternating weekends & holidays; 1-hour meal break)
Local Weekly Pay: $2214 $2415
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking Registered Nurse (RN) ICU Step Downfor an exciting job in Elmhurst NY.
Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive care to step-down patients requiring close observation including those with tracheostomies ventilators feeding tubes catheters and cardiac monitors.
Conduct frequent assessments identify subtle changes in patient condition and escalate care as needed including involving rapid response or ICU teams.
Monitor interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms and vital sign changes; participate in rapid response and code situations.
Administer IV medications perform IV insertions and phlebotomy and manage conscious sedation in accordance with unit protocols.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized patient care plans.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Step Down experience or *2 years of ICU experience.
At least 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience.
At least 2 years of conscious sedation experience.
Proven ability to care for adult and geriatric populations; completion of age-specific competency requirements.
Education
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program required.
Evidence of graduation from a National League for Nursingaccredited institution.
Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; equivalent education and experience accepted.
Licensure & Certifications
Active New York State RN License.
