We are looking for a collaborative and experienced Programme Director to coordinate and guide complex cross-functional technology programmes and projects across FNZ. You will support several programmes and delivery streams (which may include cyber infrastructure platforms applications and enterprise tooling) ensuring they remain aligned with the Technology strategy and wider business priorities.
You will focus on turning strategic objectives into well-planned achievable initiatives promoting consistent ways of working constructive challenge and shared ownership of outcomes.
You will bring a strong background in programme management and portfolio oversight with a track record of enabling multidisciplinary teams to succeed building trusted relationships and creating clarity in complex environments.
You will have experience in regulated financial services across different regions and jurisdictions. You are comfortable working in rapidly evolving situations and large-scale transformation and you can thoughtfully identify opportunities for improvement that support both the business and our people.
Programme Delivery Performance Measurement and Reporting
Coordinate the planning execution and delivery of major technology programmes and projects in alignment with FNZs Technology and business strategies.
Shape and maintain integrated delivery roadmaps helping teams understand scope priorities dependencies and shared outcomes across multiple programmes.
Nurture programme governance structures so that initiatives follow agreed scope timeline budget and quality expectations in a transparent way.
Define and monitor programme metrics and KPIs to understand the effectiveness of delivered initiatives and work in progress.
Track programme performance and work with teams to ensure objectives are realistic clearly communicated and met through agreed milestones and deliverables.
Prepare clear reports and dashboards that explain programme status risks issues and achievements to senior leadership and governance forums.
Use insight from data feedback and retrospectives to inform decisions guide prioritisation and encourage continuous improvement in delivery practices.
Strategic Execution
Work with senior Technology and business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into a coherent and balanced portfolio of programmes and projects.
Help shape programme business cases expected benefits and outcome measures in partnership with stakeholders.
Ensure that programmes consider operating model process technology data people and change impacts in an integrated way.
Identify synergies and shared capabilities across programmes so that teams can collaborate reuse solutions and minimise duplication.
Stakeholder & Governance Management
Act as a trusted point of contact for senior stakeholders on programme delivery and performance.
Lead or contribute to steering committees and other governance forums providing balanced recommendations and presenting trade-offs clearly.
Maintain open and regular communication with internal service recipients and control functions (e.g. Risk Compliance Security) throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Build and sustain strong relationships across Technology Operations and business teams to keep alignment resolve issues early and support shared decision-making.
Risk Financial Management & Benefits Realisation
Work closely with programme teams to identify document and manage risks issues assumptions and dependencies encouraging early escalation and collaborative resolution.
Oversee programme budgets and forecasts ensuring that investment decisions are transparent and aligned to agreed priorities and benefits.
Support the definition tracking and reporting of benefits and work with stakeholders to adjust programmes where benefits need to be protected or reshaped.
Partner with Risk Compliance and Audit functions on technology-change assurance and regulatory expectations.
People Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and develop teams of Programme Managers Project Managers Business Analysts and other specialists offering guidance coaching and regular feedback.
Create an environment where individuals feel supported to raise concerns share ideas and learn from experience.
Foster a culture of collaboration psychological safety and continuous learning across delivery teams and partners.
Work in partnership with third-party suppliers and strategic partners encouraging shared goals open communication and mutual accountability.
Actively champion diversity equity and inclusion within programme teams recruitment and ways of working.
Requirements
Essential
Extensive experience in senior programme leadership roles coordinating multiple complex technology programmes and projects in large matrixed organisations.
Experience delivering large-scale technology change (e.g. platform modernisation cyber and infrastructure initiatives enterprise tooling application change) from initiation through to benefits realisation.
Deep programme and portfolio management expertise with practical knowledge of governance financial management risk management and benefits tracking.
Experience working in regulated industries ideally financial services and familiarity with associated risk compliance and audit expectations.
Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders including C-level and executive committees through clear and considerate communication.
Demonstrated leadership experience in building supporting and developing multidisciplinary teams and managing third-party suppliers.
Familiarity with both traditional and agile / hybrid delivery approaches and the judgement to apply the most appropriate approach in each context.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data and qualitative insight to guide priorities and decisions.
Excellent spoken and written English.
Desirable
Formal programme / project management qualifications (e.g. MSP PgMP PMP PRINCE2 Agile certifications).
Experience with Atlassian collaboration tools (Jira Confluence)
Experience working across multiple regions and time zones coordinating global delivery teams.
