Role description:

We are currently seeking2personable enthusiastic and energeticAssociateCommercial Directorsto join our Cost & Commercial Management team to support our continuing growth within our resilience business forkeyclientsin the Water Sector.

You will be an Associate Commercial Directorwithin our Cost & Commercial Management team working on a variety of water/utilities projects and programmes in the ReadingLondonand South Coastarea.

The role sits within our Resilience GBA where we work to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations. Around the worldwerefeeling the effects of climate change rapid urbanisation and loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we are seeing large-scale unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires is becoming more frequent. Role accountabilities:

In this role you will take ownership of a range of projects on cost management assignments ensuring that standards of delivery meet definedobjectives. Our team of Graduate Assistant Project & Senior level Cost Consultants workon a variety of clean and wastewater projects and support our clients with the protection and enhancement of environmental matters across the country.

  • Working as part of and leadingourlocal commercial teams embedded with these clients with the ability to take ownership ofsignificant programmesandadvising on theadministration ofNECandiChemEcontracts including assessment of contractual change and payments ensuring that projectsremainwithin governance and adopt best practices.
  • Providing thoughtleadershipand strategic oversight.
  • Ensuring technical competenceand qualitywithin our delivery teamsincluding review and sign off team outputs before submission to our clients.
  • Establishing friendly strong connections and professionalrelationships withourclients colleagues and other parties involved in the projects and programmes we support.
  • Work withinestablishedfinancial systems to provideaccurateproject cost monitoringforecastingand reporting to completion in line with budget.
  • Proactivelymonitorand manage cost variance and contract cash flow to ensure that applications are made correctly and on time through all gateways to minimise cost and scope changes throughout the project life cycle.
  • Collaborating with client and commercial teams to manage the delivery of project deliverables KPIs andobjectives including programme performance cost control and value engineering.
  • Provide advice on and manage Risk and value management/meetings asrequiredfor the projects.
  • Manage relationships and collaborate with clients and external stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction and create new business opportunities
  • Analyse and review a range of data and documents to collate key themes and trends using this analysis in conjunction with own knowledge to provide advice and make recommendations to support cost and commercial management decision-making.
  • Leading people and commissions as neededwith line manager dutiesfor the team.
  • Ensuring that final accounts are auditednegotiatedand agreed

Other requirements:

Hybrid working with requirements for client travel between LondonReadingand South Coastareas

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Possessa minimum10yearspostgraduate experience inCommercial Management
  • Have a minimum of 3years experiencein the water industry
  • Is an experienced leader of cost and commercial teams
  • Experience in Client Development
  • Demonstrating self-management and prioritisation skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Good knowledge of specialised fields including construction processes and cost and commercial management in a consultancy setting.
  • NEC Contract experienceandiChemEDesirable
  • Possess the skills toactively supportourinternal team and manage staff onprojects typically ranging between40m and 150m.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to influence stakeholders and third parties.
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters such as different procurement routes valuemanagementand value engineering
  • Experience in managing coaching and mentoring colleagues
  • Capable of taking a project through frominceptionto completion.
  • Degree qualified(or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • Appropriate professional body (or equivalent)
