Job Summary

Job Description Summary

In 2026 GE Aerospace Dayton Cores and Castings is expected to expand process capability and capacity via capital expense addition to installing several pieces of new equipment the plant will need strategic rearrangement of existing assets and production cells.

To accomplish this initiative a new Facilities Project team is being created to help complete the workflow of a new piece of capital equipment.
GE Process Engineers are the technical experts and will be responsible for drafting the scope of work for the capex equipment and fit this information into the Investment Review Board (IRB) template.

The Facility Project Engineering team will review the bid documentation and contribute relevant details for consideration.

Industrial Engineering will then manage the P&E process lead 3P events and set the preliminary timeline.

Once project approval and procurement has commenced the Facility Project team will take ownership of the plant rearrangement and execution of the equipment installation.

Upon the completion of installation the equipment will be formally accepted by engineering and qualified for production against factory acceptance test protocol and exit criteria including any performance guarantees.

Finally GE LEAN Team will implement standard work with adherence to 5S. Operations is accountable for sustainment.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Reviews bid documentation and make technical recommendations to enhance safety ease of installation capability of equipment scope of supply robustness.
  • Partners with Industrial Engineering (IE) to establish the timeline required for relocation and installation of new assets.
  • Manages timeline of all P&E Projects
  • Prepares shop floor for new assets.
  • Works relocation of any existing assets.
  • Works with Tubes and Ducts value stream to communicate and facilitate changes.
  • Manages all contracted resources required to complete projects.
  • Populate Action Plans to communicate project(s) status to Leadership.
  • Execution of the installation scope of work per each piece of equipment.
  • Accountable for staying on budget.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years facility maintenance and manufacturing experience minimum of 3 years Manufacturing & Manufacturing Engineering Specialist experience
