Temporary Pathways and Placement Officer
The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 38000 learners and provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region.

General Description of Duties:
- Develop implement monitor and assess school programs to support education and career/life planning and successful transitions for all students (Grade 8 to 9 10 to 11 and 12 to post-secondary) as outlined through ministry policies and the BIEPSA. This includes the coordination of school-based pathways committees and events.
- Design produce and manage publication and distribution of transition resources pathway presentations other promotional marketing materials and resources including the experiential learning website.
- Collaborate with community partners to develop and implement career exploration skill development and networking opportunities for students in all pathways (apprenticeship workplace college university).
- Prepare and deliver presentations to students and families (eg. Gr. 8 Pathway/Transition parent nights and a half day experiential learning activity for Take our Kid to Work Day for Gr. 9 students of CEC staff.
- Coordination of placement activities with community stakeholders and WRDSB. (e.g. Centralized Co-op program Police Fire Hospitals Radio and TV stations Insurance Companies Manufacturing and local Universities).
- Support teachers with recruitment needs to meet the growing number of co-op programs. The following are a few examples (SHSM (Specialist High Skills Major) OYAP (Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program); UCEP (University Co-op Education Program); CCEP (College Co-op Education Program); Summer Co-op Military/Navy Co-op Reserve program and Community and Active Living programs.
- Support and assist co-op teachers as needed with placement issues including the in-servicing of co-op teachers on our employer database and centralized placement process.
- Manage the annual Co-op Pathway Awards Bursaries and Awards of Excellence for all secondary schools for all pathways.
- Manage accident reporting procedures for co-op teachers.
- Coordinate promote and manage various celebrations with our community partners.
M inimum Requirements:
- 4-year Degree/Certificate in Business/Marketing and/or Public Relations/Communications and/or Career Education and/or Human Resources
- Minimum five years experience in a related position
- Advanced organization and leadership skills (communication interpersonal independent and teamwork).
- Experience in event planning and project management.
- Experience in sales and marketing consultative design facilitation presentation and negotiation skills.
- Experience working with diverse groups representing local business industry education institutions and community groups experience building effective working relationships and work collaboratively with others for the purposes of project development implementation and evaluation.
- Knowledge in WSIB accident reporting and working knowledge of relevant legislation including Occupational Health and Safety Act WHMIS regulations Human Rights Act and OSBIE Liability Insurance
- Research analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Organizational planning time management and exceptional multi-tasking skills.
- Strong data and records management skills with great attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Google Chrome Suite MyBlueprint Data-Base Management software
- Creative problem solver conflict resolution skills negotiator ability to adapt to change market demands conditions addition of new programs changes in programs or focus.
- Travel required (some evenings) to schools and various community partners.
- Have a reliable vehicle and a valid Ontario drivers license as travel throughout the Waterloo Region may be required.
D esirable Assets :
- Experience working with a budget and websites.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and video/graphic editing software.
- Knowledge of related Ministry Pathway curriculum/policy/procedures and the gr.10 Career Studies Course.
- Knowledge of Hour Republic (version of Charity Republic)
- Knowledge of Adobe InDesign Adobe Express WordPress and Hootsuite.
- Experience in an educational setting.
- Knowledge in Human Resources and legislation related to hiring practices (ESA employment standards act); Human Rights Act. Recruiting knowledge including job analysis and assessment.
Salary Range : PASS Level 6 $85250.13 - $100294.98 per year in accordance with the PASS Terms of Employment.
Hours of Work : Temporary full time: 35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year. Contract dates: February 2 2026 to February 12 2027
