Job Summary
Travel Registered Nurse (RN) ICU Step Down
Location: Elmhurst NY
Contract Duration: 19 Weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM (3 11.5-hour flex shifts per week; alternating weekends & holidays; 1-hour meal break)
Travel Rate: $2645 $2897.50 per week
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking Travel Registered Nurse (RN) ICU Step Downfor an exciting job in lmhurst NY.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive care to clinically complex step-down patients including those with ventilators tracheostomies feeding tubes catheters and continuous cardiac monitoring.
Perform frequent assessments identify subtle changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately including activation of rapid response or ICU teams.
Monitor interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms and vital sign changes; participate in rapid response and code situations.
Administer IV medications perform IV insertions and phlebotomy and safely manage conscious sedation per unit protocols.
Maintain accurate timely documentation and collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to develop individualized plans of care.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of Step Down/Telemetry or ICU experience.
At least 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience.
At least 2 years of conscious sedation experience.
Demonstrated ability to care for adult and geriatric patients; completion of all age-specific competencies.
Education
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) required.
Graduation from a National League for Nursingaccredited program.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred (equivalent experience considered).
Licensure & Certifications
Active New York State RN License (primary source verification via NYSED).
AHA BLS Required
AHA ACLS Required
