CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Equipment Assistant assists with managing maintenance and tracking of our sport programs equipment. The incumbent will have day-to day oversight of several varsity sports at the University and will work in conjunction with the Equipment Manager to manage shipping and receiving of product and manage the access and security of locker rooms and storage space.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Receives and dispenses locks towels uniforms athletic equipment and supplies.
2. Maintains records of all equipment/supplies issued and returned.
3. Performs periodic inventories of stock on hand.
4. Repairs minor damages to equipment and arrange for repair of more seriously damaged items with suppliers.
5. Performs routine maintenance on equipment such as oiling leather or plastic gear.
6. Arranges for cleaning of equipment and laundering of clothing.
7. Makes records and bill individuals responsible for lost or stolen items.
8. Fits students with athletic equipment such as uniforms shoes pads helmets etc.
9. Cleans assigned area of work and related equipment.
10. Maintains inventory records and procedures established by the Equipment Manager.
11. Communicates effectively with students coaches staff and alumni.
12. Receives unpacks and examines stock to verify conformance to specifications and invoices.
13. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience certification or license
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required

The Equipment Assistant assists the operation of the Olympic equipment room. This role will assist in the receiving issuance use and maintenance of athletic equipment according to established policies and procedures for Olympic sports programs as assigned.
