About the Position
This is a .7 FTE non-continuing leave replacement position for a Strings and Orchestra Teacher at multiple schools beginning on (or around) January 5 2026 through the end of the current 2025-26 school year ONLY. The position includes teaching middle school orchestra and 6th grade strings across several sites with the schedule outlined below:

Maplewood K-8
- 0.2 FTE Middle School Orchestra (MF 9:0010:15)
- 0.1 FTE Elementary 6th Grade Strings (M/W 10:2011:05)
Lynndale Elementary
- 0.1 FTE Elementary 6th Grade Strings (M/W 12:201:05)
Mountlake Terrace Elementary
- 0.1 FTE Elementary 6th Grade Strings (M/W 1:452:30)
Chase Lake Elementary
- 0.1 FTE Elementary 6th Grade Strings (T/Th 11:0011:45)
Meadowdale Elementary
- 0.1 FTE Elementary 6th Grade Strings (T/Th 1:352:20)

Preference will be given to candidates that currently have an ELL ESOL or Bilingual training and GLAD training offered by theMultilingual Education Departmentwill be required for all new employees unless they can show evidence of having completed SIOP and GLAD training previously. Training will need to be completed within the first year of employment.

Required Qualifications:
Washington State Teaching Certificate with endorsements in either General Music or Instrumental Music or the ability to obtain the needed qualifications prior to the position start date.

Salary:
2025-26 Salary Schedule Range: $83305 through $ on this salary schedule is determined by FTE and official documentation verifying Educational Level and Certificated Work Experience and will be prorated for less than a full year and/or FTE.

Our benefits package includes Washington state health insurance coverage (SEBB) and a Washington state retirement package for eligible positions.

Eligibility for health insurance is based on whether the employee is anticipated to be compensated at least 630 hours per school year (September 1 through August 31). For the 2025-26school year a .5 FTE continuing contract position will meet that eligibility threshold. Eligibility for a non-continuing contract position will be determined at the time of hire by counting the total anticipated compensated hours from the date of hire through the end of the non-continuing contract. Benefitsinclude Medical Dental Vision Long-term Disability Life and ADD Insurance and options for HSA FSA and DCAP.
Eligibility for retirement is based on whether the employee is anticipated to work at least 70 hours per month for 5 months during the school year. For the 2025-26school year a .6 FTE (either continuing or non-continuing) meets that eligibility threshold.
