Minimum Qualifications:
High School GED or formal educational equivalent required.
One (1) year of laboratory experience.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Proficient in following proper specimen collection procedures.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate specimen labeling and documentation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) year of experience working in a clinical laboratory or as a medical assistant and CPR CAN PBT MLA or CPT Certification.
National Phlebotomy Certification (ex. ASCP AMT etc).
Additional Information:
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and verify their identity.
Collect blood samples by performing venipunctures and finger sticks.
Label all samples according to outlined procedures and policies.
Transport and package samples in accordance with policies.
Follow all health and safety guidelines.
Recognizes incorrect lab orders and corrects them.
Follows correct centrifugation collection storage and transport guidelines set forth in the test directory.
Adheres to lab policies HIPAA and Universal Precautions.
May perform POC testing when applicable
