At Olink part of Thermo Fisher Scientific our Innovation Centre develops nextgeneration technologies and applications for protein biomarker discovery.

Discover Impactful Work:

Were seeking a Staff Scientist to lead innovation from concept to proofofprinciple and who will play a central role in shaping our scientific and technological pipeline as well as bringing deep biological insight and strong customer understanding to guide innovation position is based in our Uppsala headquarters reporting to Director Research & Development.

A Day in the Life:

  • Invent develop and evaluate technical/biological solutions aligned with company strategy and R&D roadmap.

  • Lead crossfunctional projects from idea to experimental validation (planning timelines risk reporting).

  • Provide disease biology and customer usecase insight to build technology applications and pipeline priorities.

  • Manage major Innovation Centre initiatives coordinating resources across assay development molecular biology NGS/data and product management.

  • Build robust experiments in diseaserelevant models and molecular mechanisms using highthroughput NGS and singlecell workflows where appropriate.

  • Plan set up and coordinate lab work ensuring high scientific and data quality.

  • Interpret complex datasets with bioinformatics/data science and translate findings into clear decisions and next steps.

  • Conduct literature and horizon scanning to pinpoint emerging methods technologies and disease insights relevant to Olinks platforms.

  • Benchmark internal concepts vs. brand new approaches and propose improvements.

  • Analyze compile and present plans and results to scientific and nonscientific audiences.

  • Act as a scientific role model and thought partner.

  • Mentor scientists and research associates in experimental build troubleshooting and communication.

  • Help foster a creative high-performing culture of innovation and grow team expertise in new modalities technologies and disease areas.

Qualifications:

  • PhD or equivalent experience in molecular or cell biology systems biology or bioinformatics.

  • 510 years experience at Principal Scientist level.

  • Deep understanding of disease biology.

  • Strong expertise in highthroughput methods from the proteomics and/or genomics field (e.g. NGS single cells or multiplexed immunoassays.
