In the role of Risk Evaluation and Control Engineering Intern you will be responsible for supporting adherence to policies and procedures for the Risk Management Element of the GTM Integrated Management System (IMS) and Operating Regions.

Placement Details:

This is an 3-month placement starting in June 2026 located in Houston TX.

What you will do:

Risk Governance

  • Develop and maintain risk management policies procedures and IMS governance documents.
  • Establish enhance and implement risk tolerance criteria.
  • Conduct quarterly governance reviews and communicate to leadership.
  • Write annual risk governance report covering significant risks in the risk register performance of critical controls and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Automation of risk processes and risk analysis models.
  • Development of AI Agents.
  • High risk status updates (which usually involve chasing information from Ops)
  • Quarterly governance preparation
  • Maintain risk register.
  • Creation of training templates and work instructions.

Risk Evaluation

  • Facilitate operational risk management through risk register risk identification exercises and completing Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRAs) collaboratively with the risk analysis & diagnostics team.
  • Evaluate a wide range of risks affecting financial safety operational reliability environmental and reputational receptors and work with subject matter experts and decision-makers to make recommendations for optimal risk treatment.
  • Conduct risk-to-value normalization incorporating uncertainty to support resource allocation decisions for risk treatments including support of annual asset investment planning and management budgeting process.
  • Processes support the risk management policies and procedures for GTM.
  • Capital Budget -support optimization through risk management process.
  • Frequent communication and relationship building are required with key internal stakeholders (such as Risk Analysis & Diagnostics Safety Case AI/PI-Planning Innovation Lab TIS Engineering & Asset Management and various IMS Programs and Elements) and Enbridge leadership team.
  • Frequent presentation slides decks and report writing.

Who you are:

  • You are currently enrolled in a full time post-secondary program studying Bachelors degree in Engineering and will be returning to full time school immediately following the work term.
  • Effective and professional communication both verbal and written with ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Solid computer skills and experience using MS Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook).
  • Ability to actively and consistently represent Enbridges core values (Safety Integrity Respect Inclusion High Performance).

Preferred:

  • Pipeline and/or plant operations work experience.
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms and building/implementing AI Agents.
  • Experience with programming languages like VBA in Excel Octave Matlab Python or R.
  • Experience working with large datasets and databases (using tools such as Excel PowerPivot or PowerQuery or Power BI).
  • Strong mathematical ability and knowledge of probability and statistics particularly in the context of quantitative risk assessments for the process industries.

  • Office based role located in Houston TX.
