Job Summary
Job Title: Personal Care Assistant (PCA)
Location: Leesburg VA (20175)
Duration: 24 Weeks
Schedule: Monday Friday 8:50 AM 3:40 PM
Pay: $25/hour
Job Summary:
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support students with special needs in a school environment. The PCA will provide one-on-one assistance ensure student safety promote independence and support daily activities instructional tasks and behavioral needs under the guidance of special education staff.
Responsibilities:
Provide individualized support to students with disabilities including autism developmental delays behavioral challenges or physical needs.
Assist students with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as toileting feeding hygiene dressing and mobility.
Support instructional activities by reinforcing classroom lessons adapting materials and keeping students engaged.
Implement behavioral support strategies as directed by teachers or specialists.
Ensure student safety during transitions transportation lunch recess and other school activities.
Utilize visual supports communication tools and accommodations outlined in student IEPs.
Maintain a clean safe and organized learning environment.
Monitor and document student progress or concerns and report to supervising staff.
Collaborate with teachers therapists administrators and school personnel.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience working with children in special education autism programs or similar settings.
Ability to assist with physical support lifting and mobility as needed.
Patience compassion and strong communication skills.
Ability to follow instructions behavior plans and individualized supports.
Reliable punctual and professional in a school environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with students with autism or behavioral support needs.
Knowledge of ABA strategies sensory supports or assistive communication tools.
Prior school-based PCA paraprofessional or caregiver experience.
