Job Description
As a BIM Coordinator you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes throughout the project lifecycle. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the creation management and coordination of BIM models and data to support the design construction and operation phases of the project.
Model Coordination: Coordinate with various stakeholders including engineers contractors and subcontractors to integrate their design and construction models into a federated BIM model. Resolve clashes and conflicts to maintain clash-free coordination.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks on BIM models and data to ensure accuracy completeness and compliance with project requirements and standards.
Collaboration: Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration by managing BIM coordination meetings communicating design changes and fostering a collaborative environment among project team members.
Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of BIM processes model revisions and coordination activities. Generate reports and documentation as required by project stakeholders.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to project team members on BIM tools processes and best practices. Offer technical assistance and troubleshooting for BIM-related issues.
Technology Integration: Stay updated on emerging BIM technologies and tools. Evaluate and recommend new software solutions or workflows to enhance project efficiency and productivity.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards codes and regulations pertaining to BIM implementation and data exchange.
Required Skills and Competencies
Bachelors degree in Architecture Engineering Construction Management or related field.
Proven experience working as a BIM Coordinator or similar role on large-scale construction projects preferably in the transportation or infrastructure sector.
Knowledge of BIM software such as Autodesk Revit Navisworks and/or Bentley MicroStation.
Understanding of BIM principles processes and standards (e.g. ISO 19650).
Excellent communication coordination and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
