Position: Sanitation Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect maintain and repair all sanitation systems on board our vessels including sewage treatment plants vacuum systems and waste management systems
- Monitor and record sanitation system performance identifying and addressing any issues or malfunctions
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans for all sanitation systems
- Train crew members on proper use and maintenance of sanitation systems
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards for sanitation systems
- Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance and repairs without disrupting vessel operations
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed on sanitation systems
- Source and purchase necessary equipment and supplies for sanitation systems
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments and advancements in sanitation technology
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role preferably in the maritime industry
- Strong knowledge of sanitation systems including sewage treatment plants and waste management systems
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards for sanitation systems
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel and work on board vessels for extended periods of time
- Valid drivers license and ability to obtain necessary travel visas
