Job Description

• Play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of mission critical field activities and optimizing efficiency by utilizing academic principles gained in educational courses in a dynamic professional setting.

• Demonstrate an aptitude for Networking and/or Radio Frequency

• Provide technical support on specialized telecommunications systems and public safety product applications.

• Maintain and document complex communications systems.

• Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments.

• Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance upgrades or support issues.

• Continuous training in the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques.

Preferred Candidate Knowledge/Experience:

• Actively pursuing a certification in Security Network CCNA or NRS1

• Knowledge of wired communications systems such as local area networks (LAN) and wide-area networks (WAN)

• Computer network installation configuration and maintenance systems to include cabling routers switches firewalls and bridges.

• R.F. interfaces and systems such as transmitters receivers and antenna networks.

• Standard telephony dedicated data circuits and packet switching techniques.

• Logging recording systems

During the Co-Op Program you will gain system experience with the following equipment:

• Motorola Base Stations (GTR series Quantar etc.)

• Consoles (MCC7500E and MCC7500)

• Computer IP Networks and Configuration

• Experience working with RF Infrastructure Technologies to include Motorola SmartZone Smartnet Console Systems ASTRO Conventional and Trunked equipment is strongly preferred

The Co-Op will gain technical skills in the use of various communications test equipment including:

• Communication System Analyzers

• Ethernet Link test sets

• Digital RF Power Meter

• Motorola Conventional SmartNet and MCC Console systems Secure Operations and ASTRO A7.x - A20.x Digital systems and installation procedures.

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justices Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Target Base Salary Range: $40000 - $50000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge skills and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements

• Must be a current student attending a 2 year program or a 4 year program at a college university or technical school

• Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract.

• Must possess a current and valid drivers license and have a clean driving record.
