Our Bus Fleet Maintenance Office is seeking an Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer to diagnose repair and inspect buses pertaining to bodywork and associated components. Responsible for carrying out the diagnosis and repair of damaged bus exterior and interior panels glass structural components and furnishings/upholstery. Implementing replacements adjustments or repairs to defective parts and components. Fabricating shaping and attaching structural and body components and constructing special components as required. The work will also require the preparing and painting of repair areas and replacement panels.
What will I be doing
- Must possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
- Must possess a valid 310B Certification of Qualification with Red Seal endorsement as an Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer. This is normally obtained through Grade 12 education plus the successful completion of the apprenticeship program.
- Must possess knowledge of heavy truck or bus maintenance and repair methods with the ability to read and understand OEM specifications.
- Must be able to obtain Forklift certificate.
- Must successfully complete environmental safety and any other training required by corporate policy.
- Must possess a valid Ontario Class G drivers licence and must meet the corporate standard for a good driving record.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Class C drivers licence and Z endorsement.
- Ability to obtain job related certifications as required

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- This is diverse and complex vehicle body repair work in the maintenance repairing rebuilding painting and modification of Metrolinx buses.
- The work involves carrying out the diagnosis replacement and repairof damaged bus exterior and interior panels structural components seats/upholstery flooring and the replacement of windshields and glass.
- Performing the replacement adjustment or repair of defective parts and components.
- Fabricating shaping and attaching structural and body components and manufacturing special components as required.
- Preparing and painting of repair areas and replacement panels.
- Inspecting buses to determine extent of damage or defects and repair requirements.
- Perform the removal installation and or repairing of defective mechanical pneumatic electrical or hydraulic components including accessibility equipment.
- Performing weld repairs using various welding processes such as oxy-acetylene MIG welding plastic vinyl flooring etc.
- Performing yard and road tests to ensure repairs meet Metrolinx and MTO standards.
- When required attending on-the-road service calls.
- Assigning tasks and providing on-the-job training to SP1s Apprentices and other Autobody and Collision Damage Repairers.
- Performing other related duties as assigned within classification and lower.
