SHOPP has several service programs in the Bronx/Upper ManhattanincludingtheCommunity Care Network Program(CCNP);VIPElderJusticeandCrimeVictimsAssistanceProgram;NYConnectsoftheBronx;
Case Management & Friendly Visiting Program; Caregivers Program Lafayette Estates NORC Program; Older Adult Centers: Casa Boricua Leon Soundview and Guess.
Position Summary and Qualifications:
The Neighborhood SHOPP Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) Elder Justice Program supports older Bronx residents affected by domestic violence and crime with an emphasis on prevention and victimassistance. The Intake Worker serves a diverse population and must be bilingual in English and Spanish. Strong computer literacy is withproficiencyin Microsoft Office preferred. This position follows a hybrid work schedule and may include outreach-related fieldwork.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Social Workor a related field
- 12 years of experience working with older adults or other vulnerable populations
- Demonstrated skills in critical thinking empathy oral and written communication conflict resolution and time management
- Ability to engage in public speaking and outreach activities
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Proficiencyin computer and technology skills

- Provideinformationandreferraltovictimsorprofessionalsofotherinternal/externalprograms;
- Assistsocialworkerswithfollow-upcallsfortelephonereassurance;
- ProvideProgramDirectorwithcompletedintakeandscreeningreports;
- Maintainclientcaserecordsworkerlogsperformancetargetoutcometrackingstatistical reports and other administrative requirements;
- AheretoNYC AgingOVSandotherrelevantgovernmentguidelinesregulationsproceduresand complianceexpectations;
- Complete OVS functional timesheets when;
- Assistwithannualoutreachplanwhile trackingCDreferral log;
- Participate in team meetingsandprovidereferral tracking data to the team;
- Serve as a backup to outreach worker with presentations whenrequested;
- Identifyandmaintaincollaborativerelationshipsinthevictimsassistancenetwork;
- Attendperiodictrainingandskilldevelopmentworkshops;
- ParticipateinSHOPPstafftrainingprogramsstaffmeetingsAdvisoryCommitteeMeetings Community Board meetingsand other meetings as assigned;
- InvolvementinasupervisoryrelationshipwiththePDandAD;
- Performotherprogram relatedtasksasthe Program Director AssistantDirectoror Chief Program Officer assigns.
Work Schedule and Conditions:
- Hybrid work schedule; staffare required toreport to the office a minimum of 23 days per week or as assigned
- Ability to conduct community outreach events which may include evenings and weekends and require walking up and down stairs andlifting upto 510lbs
- Ability to perform fieldwork in varying weather conditions
- Required attendance at in-person meetings trainings and program events
