Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Controls & Instrumentation Drafting Professional with 8 to 15 years of industry experience in oil & gas fabrication or heavy engineering projects. The selected candidate will be an integral part of our Burner Engineering Department in Mumbai supporting global projects and collaborating with multiple Zeeco offices worldwide. Senior candidates will be expected to demonstrate strong ownership of drafting deliverables mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and update P&IDs based on PFDs and process mark-ups.
- Prepare PFDs Instrument Hook-up drawings BOMs and Cable Block Diagrams in line with project specifications.
- Create cable tray layouts junction box layouts and PLC panel internal/external layouts from GA drawings and engineering inputs.
- Generate instrument location drawings and coordinate with 3D model reviews.
- Prepare earthing layouts BMS logic diagrams functional block diagrams and binary logic diagrams.
- Collaborate with drafting teams to ensure accurate preparation of layouts and drawings (instrument cable tray earthing etc.).
- Coordinate with global engineering offices for drafting activities proactively address issues and ensure timely project execution.
- Review client comments prepare comment response sheets and revise drawings to achieve customer approval.
- Provide technical guidance to junior draftsmen and contribute to standardization and process improvements.
Desired Skills & Knowledge:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2022 or higher) with proven drafting speed and accuracy.
- Experience with Navisworks 3D viewer for model review.
- Strong understanding of P&ID symbols electrical schematics and piping classes.
- Familiarity with closed-loop controls for various applications.
- Exposure to Cadworx will be an added advantage.
- Industry background in oil & gas fabrication or heavy engineering is essential.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
- A collaborative mindset with a willingness to share knowledge and embrace challenges.

- Experience: 815 years in drafting for oil & gas fabrication heavy engineering or related sectors.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong exposure to instrumentation controls piping and project engineering deliverables across the project lifecycle.
- Mindset: Detail-oriented quality-focused and capable of independently managing drafting deliverables in a global fast-paced project environment.
