We Offer
- Competitive Pay: $33.50 per hour (trip rated); $76500 - $104500 annually
- Pension: $3.23/hr or approximately $7752 per year
- Full benefits including dental life insurance pharmaceutical vision care chiropractor massage EAP and more.
- Paid in truck orientation
- Shift: Swing shift - 1 week of days Monday to Friday followed by one week of nights Monday to Friday. 10-12 hour shifts.
- Home every day

- Trucks are double shifted

Responsibilities
As an Arrow driver you will be hauling wood fibre locally in B train trailers. Wood fibre is mainly comprised of wood chips but we also haul sawdust and hog fuel. You will travel on various highways in the Interior of BC (ie. Hwy 1 - Coquihalla Hwy 5 and Hwy 97).
Major Responsibilities
- Oversee cargo handling and secure loads including equipment preparation application of safe practices compliance with applicable Acts andRegulations.
- Perform pre and post andenroute trip inspections on equipmentoperated ensuring safetyroadworthinessand regulatory compliance.
- Comply withapplicable legislation including safe operation load securement drivers hours of service occupational health and safety transportation of dangerous goods and weights and dimensions.
- Complywithall rules and regulations protocols andestablishedmetrics.
- Efficiently maneuver truckand trailer(s)into loading or unloading positions following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
- Mayoperateloading equipment as per role requirements.
- Check mobile equipment (i.e.frontendloaders) to ensure that mechanical and safety equipment is in good working order.
- Report vehicle defects accidents traffic violations or damage to the vehicles to the relevant supervisor.
- Report all safety hazards or conditionsencounteredat load unloadyardand shop sites.
- RecordMaintainand Check all relevant paperwork (i.e. bill of lading) and documentation to ensure that it is complete andaccurate.
- Operate equipment such as truck cab computers CB radios and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases supervisors or other drivers.
- Complete electronicand/or manuallogs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status following applicable provincial and federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with the public customers and co-workers.
- Assistin loading and unloading of trucks.
- Perform periodic inspections before during and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure.
- Ensure that material is properly protected from the outdoor elements.Tarping loads may be a requirement.
- Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of truck is cleaned up.
- Provide feedback to supervisor/dispatchregardingcustomer problems mechanical problems or delivery problems.
- Ensure that all customersco-workersand the public are dealt with professionally and with respect.
- Train others when.
You Possess
- Proven ability to drive in snowand tochain tires when necessary. Ability to drive in other adverse weather conditions
- Super B and mountain driving experience an asset
- High School DiplomaGEDor equivalent
- Ability to read write and speak in English
- Class 1 drivers licenseand MELT
- Cleandriversabstract or record
- Air brake endorsement
- Ability to move 100 pounds lift 50 lbs overhead and lift to shoulder height 75lbs
- Ability to sit long durations
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug test
- Ability to take and follow directionAbility to understand cross training on all functions at facility
- Strong safety mindsetand quality oriented
- Ethics and Integrity
- Needs to be responsibleaccountableand dependable
- Demonstratesstrong communicationskills both verbally and written
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Computer Literate
- Basic understanding of vehicle and trailer maintenance requirements
- Organizational abilities including task prioritization and adherence to timelines
- Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
