Lead Data Architect

Job responsibilities

• Design and implement data architecture solutions that align with business objectives and technology strategies.
• Develop and maintain data models data flow diagrams and data dictionaries to support business processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Ensure data quality integrity and security across all data systems and platforms.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data architects and data engineers.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in data architecture.
• Develop and enforce data governance policies and best practices.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data systems to ensure high availability and scalability.
• Work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements and efficiencies.

Required qualifications capabilities and skills

• Formal training or certification on Data Architecture and software engineering and relevant 5 years of applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design application development testing and operational stability
• Advanced knowledge of architecture and one or more programming languages
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g. cloud artificial intelligence machine learning mobile etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
• Practical cloud native experience
• Advanced knowledge of one or more software application and architecture disciplines
• Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best data architecture solutions for the future state architecture

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in data architecture data modeling and data integration or relevant equivalent
• Strong expertise in database technologies (e.g. SQL NoSQL Oracle MongoDB).
• Proficiency in data warehouse. Data lake Lake House Data Mesh or Data Fabric architectures.
• Understanding and/or experience with streaming and/or batch data movement including ELT/ ETL processes and tooling (Informatica Pentaho DBT Glue)
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop Spark).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven experience in leading data architecture projects and initiatives.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and practices.
