We are seeking a motivated Junior Electrical PV & BESS System Engineer to join our Energy Efficiency team. The successful candidate will assist in the design implementation and maintenance of photovoltaic (PV) solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS). This role provides hands-on experience in solar and storage project development electrical design and system performance analysis with mentorship from senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and layout of PV and BESS systems including single-line diagrams cable sizing grounding and protection schemes
- Support in preparing technical drawings specifications and documentation for solar storage projects
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies including load analysis shading studies and energy yield/storage modeling
- Perform electrical calculations (voltage drop short-circuit power losses system efficiency).
- Collaborate with project managers civil engineers and contractors to ensure system integration between PV BESS and grid infrastructure
- Support the installation testing and commissioning of PV and BESS systems.
- Monitor system performance and assist in troubleshooting technical issues for both PV and BESS assets
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes safety standards and grid interconnection requirements
- Stay updated on emerging solar storage technologies standards and best practices
Qualifications :
- BSc in Electrical Engineering Renewable Energy Engineering or related field
- Basic knowledge of photovoltaic systems inverters battery technologies and electrical equipment
- Familiarity with AutoCAD PVsyst ETAP HOMER or similar software is a plus
- Understanding of IEC NEC IEEE or local electrical codes and standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to learn and grow in the renewable energy and energy storage sector
- Hands-on exposure to electrical installations testing and commissioning
Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory):
- Internship or project experience in solar PV or BESS
- Knowledge of battery chemistries (e.g. Li-ion flow batteries) and BMS (Battery Management Systems)
- Familiarity with SCADA and monitoring systems
