Our Finance team brings together our financial perspectives into our overall strategic and tactical decision making. We use state-of-the-art techniques for financial analysis planning accounting reporting and performance evaluation. This allows the organization to continue advancing medical innovation and improve lives.

The Senior Financial Controller reports to the Accounting & Controlling Lead and:

  • Ensures financial accounts are maintained in line with Swedish statutory requirements and US- GAAP by applying appropriate accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensures accurate maintenance of General Ledger Accounts in cooperation with internal & external Business Partners and maintains supporting documentation.
  • Supports month quarter and year-end close.
  • Oversees payroll process and payroll accounting with external service provider.
  • Supports global and local projects and initiatives.
  • Back up of Accounting & Controlling Lead.

What will you do

  • Leads and manages General Ledger and month end close activities for our legal entities. Demonstrates understanding of inventory movements.
  • Manages assigned General Ledger accounts and supports month end close activities to ensure that financial statements are in accordance with US GAAP and statutory requirements for legal entities of our company.
  • Prepares VAT returns for accuracy and completeness and ensures timely submission.
  • Manages payroll accounting and cooperates with outsourced payroll providers & HR as necessary. Expatriates payroll accounting and relationship with Ernst & Young Payroll Team. Ensures all assigned accounts are reconciled in a timely manner balances are accurate and transactions correctly booked.
  • Ensures accounting transactions have appropriate supporting documentations and maintains the records in a systematic manner.
  • Manages intercompany transactions.
  • Manages tax payments and reporting.
  • Educates local organization on our companys standard processes as they relate to accounting topics.
  • Liaises and cooperates with internal and external service providers (BSC Prague / Tax team / Genpact)
  • Supports Business Compliance activities from a financial perspective.
  • Manages local bank transactions for both legal entities.
  • Supports Internal PwC and Tax audits.
  • Supports and back-up the Accounting & Controlling Lead in corporate reporting requirements.
  • Leads and participates in Ad Hoc global and local projects.

Qualifications Skills & Experience Required

  • Masters or bachelors degree in finance or Accounting and at least 3 years of experience in accounting/finance CPA is a benefit
  • Advanced English and Advanced Swedish language skills
  • Eligibility to work in Sweden (Swedish personal identity number)
  • Demonstrates understanding of national and regional finance laws regulations and standards (i.e. Local GAAP US GAAP Foreign Corrupt Practice Act) and applies them in moderately complex situations to ensure the financial integrity of the business and financial statements
  • Understands our companys organizational structure and how subject matter expects are identified to help accomplish finance tasks including support of change management activities
  • Adheres to the highest standards of trustworthy and ethical behavior in all interactions and hold others to the same standards; comply with all laws policies and regulations; identify and address ethical issues without hesitation
  • Ability to manage assigned processes and tasks independently with minimal supervision with ability to meet due dates under time constraints
  • Stakeholder focused structured and reliable person that adheres to agreed timelines
  • Experience with SAP FI/CO modules advanced user of Excel
  • Have strong communication and relations leadership capabilities
  • Strong stakeholder influence; drives cross-team alignment; delivers high-quality results on time with clear ownership and accountability
