Job Summary

Main Responsibilities

 

Research and Analysis

  • Help to develop the analytic component of IEAs research programme on the people-centred dimensions of energy policies including on affordability employment and skills health and other social impacts.
  • Gather and analyse data on current relevant policies and programmes as well as information and analysis relating to their impacts
  • Develop knowledge resources such as policy databases and case studies to present information on policies and programmes as well as drawing lessons as to best practice policy design and implementation
  • Contribute to relevant IEA outputs including project reports web content and presentations.

 

Liaison and outreach

 

  • Continue to create a community of practice with experts outside the Agency on analytic dimensions of people-centred clean energy transitions.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of key events such as meetings of the Global Commission on People Centred Clean Energy Transitions IEA Clean Energy Labour Council mulitlateral fora such as G20 and COPand thematic webinars.
  • Support the promotion the work of the IEA externally to a wide range of audiences through organising and preparing materials for workshops and bi-lateral meetings.
  • Collaborate with relevant colleagues across the Agency in support of the broader IEA efforts and to strengthen IEA engagement with other collaborative platforms.

Qualifications :

Ideal Candidate Profile 

Academic Background

  • Preferably an advanced university degree in relevant disciplines such as statistics economics social sciences development studies international relations public policy energy and environmental policy or similar discipline.

Professional Background

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working on analytical approaches to policy related to people-centred topics e.g. regarding jobs and skills just transitions equality social acceptance and social impacts.
  • Excellent understanding of the energy sector and just transition and development issues.
  • Proven analytical experience and strong writing skills as demonstrated by past work (publications reports quantitative analysis operative models and/or published papers)

Core Competencies

Languages  

  • An excellent written and oral command of English.
  • Good knowledge of other language(s) would be an asset.

Contract Duration 

  • Two-year fixed term appointment with the possibility of renewal.
