Job Summary

We are seeking an Intermediate Contracts Specialist to join our Commercial Services team. This role may be based in Ottawa and supports both domestic and international defence programs.

In this role you will be responsible for administering and supporting contracts throughout their lifecycle from proposal preparation and contract execution to compliance and change management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure contractual obligations are clearly understood managed and executed in alignment with business objectives.

  • Administer and monitor contract performance and compliance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractual communications with internal and external stakeholders
  • Review and interpret contractual terms and conditions to identify risks and obligations
  • Support proposal preparation including reviewing RFPs and contributing to compliant responses
  • Collaborate with Program Management to support contract execution and performance
  • Assist with contract negotiations with guidance from leadership
  • Manage contract changes and coordinate with Engineering Finance and other functions to mitigate risk
  • Maintain accurate and compliant contract documentation
  • Respond to contract-related inquiries audits and compliance reviews
  • Build effective working relationships with customers and internal partners

Qualifications :

  • Post-secondary education preferably in Business Commerce Law or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial contracts contract administration or a related role
  • Strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions
  • Experience reviewing RFPs and supporting proposal responses
  • Strong analytical research and documentation skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Clear concise and professional communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

Assets (Nice to Have):

  • Experience with Canadian or international government contracts
  • Defence or regulated-industry experience
  • Contract change management or risk management experience

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.
