**This is a full time position at 36 hours per week located at Lake Forest Hospital. The hours are Monday to Friday 3pm to 10:30p. This position is offering a $5000 sign on bonus to eligible candidates. **

Participates in the care of perioperative patients by assisting the surgical team before during and after surgery at the Hospital and Grayslake Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Responsibilities:
- Assembles routine and specialty instruments for operative procedures according to operating room standards and physician preference cards.
- Organizes instruments according to specialty.
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments as needed.
- Labels all supplies on the tray.
- Inform appropriate personnel when instruments or equipment are insufficient to meet the needs of the operative schedule.
- Assists team members with placing and positioning patients on the table.
- Hands instruments and supplies to surgeon.
- Preserves OR specimens.
- Accounts for all sponges needles and instruments before and after operation.
- Functions as a second surgical assistant after completing skill checklist; under direction of the surgeon retracts tissue assists with wound closures and applies surgical dressings.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of Surg Tech Program.
- BLS American Heart Association.
