The position of Executive General Counsel is an executive-level management position that will assist the OA General Counsel in consulting with Office of the Corporation Counsel and the NYCRS and providing legal advice and counsel to the Chief Actuary and OA Division Heads. The successful candidate will work closely with the OAs Certification Services Division and may be assigned to oversee Division operations. The Executive General Counsel will also be involved in the preparation of Fiscal Notes NYCRS Board of Trustees memoranda vendor contracts and requests for proposals opining on employment law equal employment opportunity OA policy issues FOIL Conflicts of Interest Law compliance and reporting issues and assisting the General Counsel in any other legal or administrative issues that impact the OA. The Executive General Counsel will be expected to assist in special projects that may include legal research legislative drafting and creating data processing efficiencies and may also attend NYCRS Board of Trustees meeting with the Chief Actuary or a designee.

Qualifications :
Admission to the New York State Bar; and four years of recent full-time responsible relevant satisfactory legal experience subsequent to admission to any bar eighteen months of which must have been in the supervision of other attorneys in an administrative managerial or executive capacity or performing highly complex and significant legal work.
Incumbents must remain Members of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of this employment.
