As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking technology - Deposits Platform youlead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your teams work adheres to compliance standards business requirements and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities
- Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
- Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output practices and collaboration
- Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
- Manages stakeholder relationships and the teams work in accordance with compliance standards service level agreements and business requirements
- Creates a culture of diversity opportunity inclusion and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied addition demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
- Experience leading technology projects and Experience managing technologists
- Deep proficiency in reliability scalability performance security enterprise system architecture toil reduction and other site reliability best practices with the ability to implement these practices within an application or platform
- Fluency in at least one programming language such as (e.g. Python Java Spring etc.)
- Deep knowledge of software applications and technical processes with emerging depth in one or more technical disciplines
- Proficiency and experience in observability such as white and black box monitoring SLO alerting and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana Dynatrace Prometheus Datadog Splunk etc.
- Proficiency in continuous integration and continuous delivery tools (e.g. Jenkins GitLab Terraform etc.)
- Experience with container and container orchestration (e.g. ECS Kubernetes Docker etc.)
- Experience with troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues
Ability to identify and solve problems related to complex data structures and algorithms - Drive to self-educate and evaluate new technology
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Experience working at code level
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies with a focus on public cloud platforms like AWS GCP or Azure
