JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
The Research & Development Technician assists the R&D Specialist with the development of new products under the supervision and direction of the Research & Development Manager.
Essential Functions

Performs the raw trimming cooking (pit operation) processing packaging and shipment of new experimental products
Performs sanitation of preparation areas
Handles the restocking of items used in the preparation process
Maintains an up-to-date inventory of retain samples
Conduct AS400 transactions
Keep detailed records for each sample (Excel experience a plus)
Must be able to stand between 2 3 hours at a time
Must be willing to follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) of the company which include but are not limited to: use of a hair net use of gloves use of a company approved frock and rubber boots no jewelry no nail polish or artificial nails no shorts no open-toed shoes no ripped clothing or rhinestones/glitter on clothing no chewing gum candy or tobacco.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to extreme temperatures (under 40 degrees and/or above 100 degrees Fahrenheit). The floors in the environment are often wet and can be slippery. The employee regularly works nearing moving mechanical parts.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Frequent use/motion of hands wrists and arms are required
The employee is often required to stoop kneel crouch or bend
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. 40 hours per week.
Hours of work: Typically Monday through Friday rotating 2 weeks on days and 2 weeks on and finish times vary depending on assigned department and workload. Weekends and overtime hours are often required. Schedule is subject to change with or without advanced notice.
Required Education and Experience
Proficient with basic computer skills
Able to read/write
Preferred Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED
Previous research and development experience in a manufacturing environment
